Privacy on the Internet

Recently i went a web site. I am churching in Google about the security of web page and internet then I saw this topics I thing it will be important information for my all friends.

Keep your privacy on the Internet and still create a great personal Web site. Internet safety is very important but you can still keep your email, Web pages, yourself and your kids safe.

For safety's sake watch what you put on your Web site. A lot of you are putting up sites about your most intimate life details such as pictures of your children and what kind of work you do. If you want to make sure you and your family stay safe there are some things you should not put on your site.

* Never put your phone number on your Web page. You don't know what kind of people will be calling you. Anyone can get to your site once you put it online and anyone might call you.

* Don't put your address online unless you want people to send you things. If you put up your address you run the risk of people sending you things you don't want or coming to your house.

* On the same note, don't tell people where you work or where your children go to school.

* If it's a child's page or if you want extra security get an online email address like Hotmail or one of the others to put on the Web page. This way someone can't send email to your personal account or find out more about you by looking you up. They could get your address if they know your personal email address. OR, put up a bulletin board instead of an email address.

* Be wary when putting you or your kid's last names on your page. If someone wants to find you this makes it much easier.

* Don't put up controversial information on a child's site. Someone may try to retaliate and take it out on your child.

* Don't add links to schools or stores in your area if you don't want someone to know where you live. This just makes it that much easier to figure it out.

* Also, if you don't want everyone to know where you live, don't put your Web site on your local ISP. Use a place like Freeservers or Geocities to put up your site.

* Be careful about the pictures you put up. Make sure they don't say where you got them done or they don't have something in them that will give away your location.

Here's a very helpful sites to look at that will help you stay safe online
